Parents, I am grateful for your support at our last Legacy Parents Event and your interest in our next event. This year, we will not be holding a Parents Weekend like last year. However, we’re excited to announce that next school year (2025-26) will bring a renewed opportunity to come together for this beneficial event. In lieu of a Parents Weekend this spring, we’re extending a special invitation for you to attend the Truth & Life Conference this January.
Over the years, a desire has developed for the conference to accommodate a larger audience. We consistently received interest from alumni, donors, and parents alike who want to attend and receive the blessing that comes from two and a half days of high-quality expository preaching, worship, and fellowship. This year, we are pleased to announce we will be able to accommodate this request at the event’s new location, Grace Community Church. So, this year, Truth & Life isn’t just for our current students! It will also be a time for the TMU community to connect and come together under our shared love for Christ and Scripture.
Truth & Life is our annual Bible conference, a tradition rooted in our commitment to starting each spring semester with a renewed focus on Christ and Scripture. Initially launched in the 1990s, the conference was launched as a way to welcome students back from the winter break and, spiritually and academically, help them recalibrate for the semester ahead. This year’s focus is on world missions. Our theme, “Into All The World,” is especially exciting because this focus is a cornerstone of our mission as an institution that trains the next generation of church leaders and mission-minded individuals.
This year’s guest speaker is H.B. Charles, pastor-teacher at Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church of Jacksonville and Orange Park, Florida. Our president, Dr. Abner Chou, will also be speaking. The hosts for the event will be our campus pastor and vice president of student life, Russ Moir, and The Master’s Academy International’s president, Mark Tatlock. We’ll delve into foundational issues: what missions looks like, the calls and roles involved, and how our students are being prepared to impact communities worldwide for Christ.
Another highlight will be just for parents attending the conference. We will host a parent’s dinner to thank you for attending and being a part of the fellowship that the Truth and Life Conference has fostered for students for decades. We warmly invite you to join us at the Truth & Life conference on January 15-17, 2025, as we worship and learn together. The event promises to be an enriching experience and a chance to celebrate our longstanding commitment to missions.
