I entered the MABC program in 2006 in part as preparation to help plant a church. Part of the goal with the church plant was to both train members in how to counsel and to provide free counseling to those in the church and in the community. In order to help provide the best training and counseling that we could, going through the MABC was the obvious choice to get the equipping I needed.

It is hard to emphasize how the program helped to prepare me for the work of counseling and shepherding souls. Each class was designed to not merely equip me with the knowledge and instruction I needed, but also helped to mature and strengthen my love for Christ. The supervised counseling helped to better prepare me to counsel with the truth and authority of God’s Word.

I have been the counseling pastor at Cornerstone Church in Jackson, WY since 2012, and I cannot think of a greater place to have received my training and preparation for pastoral ministry than from the MABC program at The Master’s University. Not only do I get the privilege of counseling people each week, but I also teach others how to disciple and counsel others through our ACBC certified training program.
