The Master’s University recently saw the publication of its first-ever student academic journal. Nine students contributed articles to the inaugural volume of the TMU Journal of Biblical and Theological Studies, published by the School of Biblical Studies.

As stated in the journal’s opening editorial, written by Shiloh Noorthoek and Julia Hildebrandt (senior Bible majors), “[The journal] desires to facilitate exceptional study of Scripture to the glory of God. Unlike many university journals, this one is student-initiated and student-driven. Every article was written by an undergraduate student at TMU and edited by student peers under the guidance of the university’s professors and staff.”

They go on: “We hope to illustrate The Master’s University’s unshakable commitment to a hermeneutic of submission to Scripture, and we desire that this journal would become one more platform for the celebration of our Savior’s excellencies. Our prayer is that it would inspire the reader to search out the depths of God’s Word, follow wherever it leads, and dedicate his life, now and forever, to Christ and Scripture.”

Everyone is invited to download and read the journal at masters.edu/bible-journal. The School of Biblical Studies is accepting submissions for next year’s journal, and students are encouraged to apply to join next year’s editorial team.
