Dr. Tai-Danae Bradley, a visiting research professor of mathematics at The Master’s University, was recently featured in an article from Quanta Magazine, a well-known math and science publication.

Bradley, who started teaching at the University in 2021, is also the executive director of the Math3ma Institute, a TMU-hosted platform of research and outreach for those in the sciences. This summer, the institute will be hosting its third annual Math3ma Symposium conference.

In the article, titled “Where Does Meaning Live in a Sentence? Math Might Tell Us,” Bradley articulates her current work regarding the relationship between math and language, and how they can benefit one another.

“I’m hoping (our work) can bring us to a deeper understanding of mathematics itself,” she says. “Maybe studying language in this way will help us uncover some new mathematical structure that we just haven’t found yet.”
