This is a dorm room in Dixon Hall. Check out all the other halls below:
This women’s dorm was completed in 1990 as part of an expansion project to accommodate the growing student population following Dr. John MacArthur’s arrival as president in 1985.
This dorm was completed in 1990 as part of an expansion project to accommodate the growing student population following Dr. John MacArthur’s arrival as president in 1985. The hall is named after Dr. Frederick W. Waldock. He and his wife, Dorothy, were pioneering missionaries in northern India for almost forty years. He often spoke at the school’s mission conference and was awarded an honorary doctorate for his contribution to missions.
This was the first dorm constructed when the university moved to its current location in the 1960s. It was dedicated on April 30, 1965, to Dr. Herbert Hotchkiss, “No man ever deserved to be memorialized in connection with an educational institution more than Herbert Hotchkiss.”
C.W. Smith Hall (usually called “CDub”) is the newest dorm on campus. It was completed in Spring 2003 to alleviate the need for housing with a growing number of students having to live in off-campus rented apartments. In fact, students were moved mid-semester from the off-campus apartments – Oak Tree and Manzanita – into the newly finished dorm. Nearly the entire campus participated in the effort and accomplished the huge task in one afternoon.
Dixon was completed in 1990 as part of an expansion project to accommodate the growing student population following Dr. John MacArthur’s arrival as President of the school in 1985. The hall is named after Frank R. Dixon, a generous donor to the college who funded its construction.
Slight Hall was established in 1978 and named in honor of the long-time chairman of the board of directors, Ralph S. Slight. He was elected to the board in 1946 and named chairman in 1947. He was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree the same year at commencement exercises. He led the school through many changes, such as moving the campus to Placerita Canyon in 1960. In 1970 he resigned when his family moved to northern California.
Since 2021, TMU Canyon Homes have become a unique and exciting residential option. Tucked away in the Placerita Canyon, these residences offer the convenience of being adjacent to the campus while providing a truly exceptional living experience.
