Dr. Pekovich currently teaches Immunology, Microbiology, and Genetics in the Department of Biological and Physical Sciences at TMU. He earned a B.A. in Microbiology at UC Santa Barbara and a Ph.D. in molecular biology from Vanderbilt University. Over the years, he has researched and taught at several other institutions, including Northwest Nazarene University, College of Western Idaho, and Westmont College. More recently he has pursued entrepreneurial opportunities, establishing an auction house for sports memorabilia as well as American Family Research, a company that uses genetics to perform family research for adoptive children. His current research interests include studying prostate cancer and the signals involved that lead to its metastasis. Steve and his wife Kirstin have four children.
