Prof. Converse graduated from California State University, Northridge in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in percussion performance. Since graduating, Prof. Converse has performed and recorded with a diverse collection of artists including Paul Anka, Peggy Lee, Lucy Arnaz, Dudley Moore and many others. As a free-lance drummer and percussionist, he works often in the Los Angeles theatres, does television, film and record work and appeared in a concert series with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Prof. Converse has been privileged to study with a number of L.A.’s finest percussionists and brings a unique blend of training and practical experience to his teaching at The Master’s University.
