Dr. Hill comes to TMU after serving for five years as the McVay Endowed Chair of Business and the Associate Dean for The School of Professional Studies at Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas. He also served as the Co-Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs in 2010. Preceding his time at Sterling College, Dr. Hill served as an Assistant Professor of Business at Hope International University in Fullerton, California for six years, four of those as the Business Chair for The School of Professional Studies. Prior to his entry into higher education, Dr. Hill served as the president of Mywebteam (a full service web design and hosting firm) in Irvine, California.

Dr. Hill attends Grace Baptist Church in Santa Clarita with his wife Stephanie and three Children; Nolan, Grace, and Faith.
