Dr. Halstead is an accomplished educator and leader with a rich history of service and academic excellence. He has been honored with the Distinguished Teaching Award/Teacher of the Year in 1994, 2003, and 2010 and has been repeatedly recognized in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. In 1994, he furthered his studies at the Institute of Holy Land Studies, adding depth to his academic and theological expertise.

Before joining the university, Dr. Halstead spent a decade as an associate pastor at Grace Community Church, where he played a pivotal role in ministry and community building. His passion for global missions was evident early on, as he served as a mission team leader for the Soviet Union in 1990. Since then, he has participated in numerous summer mission trips, bringing his dedication to New Zealand, Albania, India, Japan, and Cambodia.

A member of the Evangelical Theological Society, Dr. Halstead remains actively engaged in theological discourse. He is also a devoted husband, proud father of three, and grandfather of eight. His life’s work reflects a commitment to education, faith, and meaningful impact on local and global communities.
