This program is designed for students interested in geology, paleontology, or environmental science. This major provides students with the training to understand the earth’s past and present as told through its rocks, minerals, fossils, landforms, and processes. There will be opportunities to explore breathtaking geological sites of the southwest (such as Death Valley and the Grand Canyon) for a firsthand learning experience. Whether you aspire to discover dinosaurs, teach high school geology, look for precious metals, or promote biblical stewardship of the environment, TMU is excited to equip you for astute scientific study.
God has left a record of His judgment in the rocks and geological formations of the earth, but also a record of living creatures, some of which have never been seen in our era. There is much for science students and faculty to study as we learn more about the creative genius of our Creator from the stone-cold rocks of the earth. “In the beginning God created…” is the very origin of the geoscience program, and budding scientists will learn that the true and revealed history of the earth only takes a bit of digging.
