Tuition for the M.A. in Biblical Counseling program is charged by unit/credit and based on what format the class is offered in. Taking a class in an on-campus modality costs less than taking a class in an online modality.
Students will pay their tuition per semester by either paying the full price for each semester at the beginning of the semester or opting for a 4-month payment plan over the course of the semester, which comes with a small fee.
The costs students may incur during the program, whether standard or conditional, are as follows:
$50 | Application fee |
$250 | Initial non-refundable deposit (not extra fee, but down payment of tuition) |
$2,000 | Approximate cost of books and materials, including Logos Bible Software and a Journal of Biblical Counseling subscription |
$350 | BC580 Observations & Applied Studies - Supervision Fee |
$350 | BC592 Applied Soul Care I - Supervision Fee |
$350 | BC593 Applied Soul Care II - Supervision Fee |
$700 | BC598 Thesis Research - Editor's Fee |
$700 | BC599 Thesis Composition - Editor's Fee (only pay if signed up for class) |
$570 | SIP room and meal fee (see SIP program) |
$30 | Technology fee (per semester) |
$15 | Library fee (per semester) |
$250 | Annual parking permit (for new or returning residential students – purchase here) |
$10 | Temporary parking permit (per week of on-campus SIP classes – purchase here) |
$250 | Graduation fee for students attending the ceremony |
$25 | Graduation fee for students NOT attending the ceremony |
$50 | Continuing Education fee for each semester missed (see Active Student Status policy) |
$150 | Program Extension fee for each semester taken beyond the number of semesters allotted to each type of student (see Active Student Status policy) |
*Additional travel or relocation expenses may be incurred throughout the program.
Since the program is 34 units, residential students can expect to pay around $26,000 to $27,000 and distance students $28,000 to $29,000 as the total cost for the program, fees included.
For students looking to audit rather than to take classes for credit in the MABC program, the cost is as follows for the following types of students…
Audit fees are payed using a separate Audit Payment Form. See Audit Admissions to learn more about the admissions process and how to pay these fees.
Scholarships for the MABC program are provided through the Graduate Studies department directly, not through our Financial Aid office. Scholarships are awarded semester by semester. Any active MABC student who wants a scholarship must apply each semester. Because scholarship funds are provided directly from our department they are limited. In this way, scholarship applications are considered on the basis of the following criteria…
Scholarship applications are due to be submitted by the first day of the semester to which they will apply. Scholarship notifications will be provided by the beginning of the third week of the semester. Since scholarships are not guaranteed, students should plan to fund their education separately.
You can apply for the scholarship using the link below…
You must be an active MABC student before you can apply for a scholarship. Applicants are not able to apply until they are admitted into the program.
After you have completed the scholarship form, questions regarding your scholarship status for the current semester should be directed to our program director, Mark Smith.
While scholarships are exclusively provided through the Graduate Bible Counseling department, financial aid and government loans can be sought through the Office of Financial Aid. If you would like to pursue government aid or loans, you may correspond with their office. They will help you pursue the best course of action for your financial situation. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid with any questions.
To apply for financial aid in the MABC program, please submit a MABC Online Financial Aid Application below..
