The only organization God called, equipped, and founded to offer counseling is the Church. The ministry of the Word is an essential function of the Church, and it is lamentable that many churches have departed from teaching sound doctrine and subsequently sound counseling. As local churches contextualize their mission to gain acceptance in the culture and adopt secular methodologies, the field of counseling is being surrendered to psychology and questionable parachurch ministries that operate outside the Church’s oversight. As a result, they lead people away from Christ and His Church. Counseling is a spiritual endeavor, the work of the Holy Spirit. He saves people, places them in the Church, and matures them through the Word counseled in and through the Church.

Partnership

The Care of Souls Conference partners with the Graduate Studies in Biblical Counseling Department at The Master's University. The next conference is scheduled to take place in Santa Clarita, California and details about the specific location will be announced late fall.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Care of Souls Conference is to present a system of biblical truth that brings together people, their problems, Scripture, and the living God. It is based on the convictions that (1) God’s Word should be our counseling authority, (2) counseling is a part of the basic discipling ministry of the local church, and (3) God’s people can and should be trained to counsel effectively. This conference is intended for all of God’s people: pastors, elders, and male/female lay people.
