Sarah Blankinship is a student at The Master’s University, studying interdisciplinary studies with emphases in business management and biblical counseling. She began her journey at TMU in fall 2021 and will be graduating this spring. After graduation, she plans to move back home to Colorado Springs and start working at a wealth management firm in investment and insurance operations.
When asked why she chose TMU, Sarah shared: “My grandparents taught here, so I grew up wanting to come after being around TMU so much. I knew it had solid, biblical teaching and I wanted to grow in my faith. My siblings and cousins went here as well, and I was able to see how much they loved it.”
Sarah’s favorite part of TMU is the people. She said: “Wherever you go on campus, people are kind and open. This is because we all have the same thing in common in Christ. Being at TMU has been a sweet reminder of how great it is to be within a community of strong believers. I have gained lifelong friendships that encourage me in all areas of my life.”
Spiritually, Sarah has seen significant growth during her time at TMU: “My knowledge of theology has grown in my time here at TMU, and I am able to give a strong defense for why I believe what I believe. I have a better understanding of who God is and what He has done in my life.”
Academically, she has also been challenged and inspired: “TMU has made me a better learner and someone who desires to grow in knowledge. The professors here at TMU are so passionate about what they teach that it is hard to not fall in love with learning. It has been sweet to see how passionate professors are about the Lord even when they are not teaching a Bible class.”
Sarah’s advice to anyone considering TMU? “Learn and grow academically, but also make time to pursue friendships with fellow students. Say yes to things and don’t waste time doing things alone. There is likely not another time in your life that you will be around so many like-minded individuals. This time is encouraging and life changing.”
