Dr. Palmer grew up interested in aviation, leading him to complete a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU). After the Lord graciously saved him during his college years, his heart desires changed, leading him to study at The Master’s Seminary (TMS) where he earned his Master of Divinity. Over the years Dr. Palmer has developed a passion for biblical counseling in particular, which prompted him to pursue t a D.Min. in Biblical Counseling at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS) and a Th.M. and Ph.D. in Biblical Studies and Biblical Counseling at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MBTS).

Since 2002, Dr. Palmer has had the joyful privilege of being the associate pastor at Grace Bible Church in Granbury, Texas. He also serves as a Fellow (supervisor) and board member of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and as the director of the Center for Biblical Counseling in Discipleship (CBCD). Dr. Palmer also functions as a chaplain for the Civil Air Patrol, the auxiliary of the United States Air Force.

Dr. Palmer enjoys spending time with his wife, Lisa, and three children, Alan, Aimee, and Aric. In his free time, you can find Dr. Palmer jogging, playing volleyball, or enjoying general aviation and saltwater reef aquariums.
