In a thrilling finish, The Master’s University’s Davis Boggess won the 10,000-meter national title at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Marion, Indiana, on Wednesday.
Boggess is the third TMU athlete to win an NAIA national title this year, joining Caleb Pouliot (indoor pole vault) and Easton Johnson (men’s golf). TMU also won an indoor track and field national title in the distance medley relay earlier this spring — a relay that Boggess was part of. Entering 2023, TMU had earned five national titles in its history.
For his part, Boggess is only the second two-time NAIA national champion in TMU history. He joins John Gilbertson, who placed first in men’s cross country in 2012, and then did the same in the men’s 5K in track and field in 2013.
