Participation Guidelines

1. Only students currently enrolled at The Master’s University are allowed to submit research and present.
2. All presenting students must have a TMU faculty sponsor. If a student is doing independent research, we encourage them to ask a TMU faculty member to serve as their sponsor/mentor for the project.
3. Multiple student authors can be on the same abstract, but all students must contribute. One student should be chosen as the first author, but any student on the team may present to the judges.

 Abstract Guidelines

1. Abstracts should be no longer than 200 words (not including the title).
2. References should not be included in the abstract.
3. Font must be 12-pt Times New Roman.
4. The title should be written in all caps followed by the authors’ names. There should be an asterisk following the faculty sponsor.
5. Abstracts must be submitted by the 11:59 pm on Friday, April 2.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

1. Abstracts should be submitted as .doc or .docx files to with the subject line as SRC Abstract.
2. In the text of the email, indicate whether your submission will be a Type 1 or Type 2 abstract.
   1. Type 1 abstracts concern original research. If you are doing your research as part of a research class, or it is something that could be worked into a technical journal article, then you would indicate a Type 1 abstract in your email.
   2. Type 2 abstracts involve research that would be part of a class assignment.
3. In the text of the email, indicate that your work is your own and not plagiarized from another source.
4. In the text of the email, you must list what each student member of your team did in the research, writing, and/or poster design.

Poster Guidelines

1. Posters are the only format for presenting at the 2021 SRC.
2. All posters must be 4’ x 3’ (1.2 m x 0.91 m). That is to say, 4 feet (1.2 m) wide by 3 feet (0.91 m) tall.
3. Posters should be designed using a computer. We recommend using PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, or Inkscape. PowerPoint is available to students through TMU. Inkscape is free online, but Adobe Illustrator must be purchased.
4. Completed poster files should be sent to Mrs. Jamie Bahr () by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, April 21.
5. You are responsible to hang up and take down your own poster on your presentation day.

Presentation Guidelines

1. 1. Presenters will be assigned either Monday (April 19) or Tuesday (April 20) to present.
   2. As the conference approaches, you will be notified of what times the judges will be at the posters each day. There should be multiple time slots, which will allow you to find a time that works for you to present to the judges.
   3. We strongly encourage presenters to be at their posters as much as they can on their presentation day to talk to students, faculty, and staff about their research.
