1. Accept Your Offer

Contact your admissions counselor and tell them you are ready to accept your offer. This will reserve your spot in the incoming class.

You can also make the $200 deposit, allowing you to proceed with the registration process. The deposit is not an extra fee. It is credited toward your student billing account for next semester. You can complete your deposit by logging into your TMU account. If you plan to live on-campus, you will also pre-pay a $300 housing deposit in April.

2. Apply For Financial Aid

Your initial financial aid package is just the beginning. This package is based on your admissions application, which typically includes your GPA, test scores (SAT, ACT, or CLT), and FAFSA information if you completed it.

If you have not yet completed the FAFSA, most U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens are eligible for financial aid for college or career school. Complete yours free at www.fafsa.ed.gov with TMU’s Federal School Code 001220. The FAFSA is for outside aid, like state and federal aid.

4 ways to increase your financial aid package:

1. Add an extra $5,000 in financial aid with Ministry-Match. TMU has significantly boosted our ministry-matching grant, meaning if your church contributes up to $2500, TMU will match that amount.

2. Unlike many other institutions, we do not include any loans in your TMU scholarship package. Loans are typically available for $6,000 annually (with the Federal Direct Stafford Loan) or 100% of your total cost with a Direct Parent PLUS Loan.

3. Ensure you complete the FAFSA to qualify for additional free federal aid, ranging from $7,395 yearly for Pell Grants and up to $9,358 yearly for Cal Grants. Any federal or state aid you receive would stack with your existing aid. Use FAFSA’s estimator tool to get an estimate here.

4. TMU also endorses both on and off-campus job opportunities. With many students working 10+ hours weekly and California’s minimum wage set at $16/hr, you can earn $2500+/semester.

You can also apply for additional TMU scholarships now. See financial aid for a list of academic, athletic, music, ministry, and other specialized aid. Keep a close eye on deadlines! Your TMU scholarships often stack together and are added to your outside aid to enhance your personalized scholarship package. Contact your admissions counselor if you would like to see examples or ask for help with these.

3. Visit The Campus

Book your visit today. We can’t wait to meet you!

A personalized campus visit will show you TMU in all of its wonderful dimensions during the semester. You’ll experience the energy of our classrooms, hear the power of our chapel service, interact with current students, and meet with the right staff members to have your questions answered.

4. Pre-Registration & Housing Application (Opened March 8)

Pre-Registration When you pre-register, you complete details and forms to ensure you’re ready for the next steps. This includes health insurance, emergency contact information, billing plan options, and other details. You can pre-register starting Friday, March 8, 2024.

5. Enroll into Classes (Opened April 11)

Update: Due to 2024 FAFSA Delays, the housing deposit is now refundable until August 1st

Starting Thursday, April 11, 2024, new students can complete the following:

Housing Deposit: Select your housing preferences and details! Additionally, only if you intend to live in on-campus housing, TMU is offering priority housing this year on a first-come, first-served basis due to high demand. New students must pre-pay a $300 non-refundable housing deposit to secure on-campus housing. The housing deposit is not an extra fee but applies to your first housing bill. The housing deposit is separate from the $200 tuition deposit. Once housing is full, late registrations will be placed on a waitlist and offered off-campus or alternative housing, if available. If you plan to live off-campus, complete your pre-registration and select your housing preferences, and you will not be requested to complete a housing deposit. Class selections are not affected. All students can enroll in classes without completing a housing deposit, but enrolling in classes does not guarantee on-campus housing.
