Financial support for new and continuing students
For all Fall 2020 traditional undergraduate students:
Students pursuing an on-campus major who feel uncomfortable coming back to TMU have the option to take their classes asynchronously in Fall 2020. Students will not have their aid removed, and they will also be given a 10% discount on their fall bill. The discount is added in your favor before any payments or loans. The maximum amount of institutional aid & state aid cannot exceed your tuition cost under this program. Students in this option will not have to pay for housing, food, student services fee, or the orientation fee. They will still be required to pay the technology fee. If you are taking classes on campus but decide to reside in off-campus housing, your need-based aid may be affected. Please contact financial aid for details. Students receiving the Steadfast Scholarship, please contact the Office of Financial Aid. Your aid may be affected.
For new and continuing students:
For families whose jobs have been impacted or have lost a significant amount of income due to COVID-19, TMU may help through the “Loss Of Job” application. We request several documents to be submitted and work with you and the federal government to assist with additional resources. We can notify the Department of Education of any loss of job and, in return, potentially help you receive additional federal, institutional funds, or both.
For continuing students:
Funding is awarded to students as a check to help assist with personal expenditures that they have incurred due to COVID-19. The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was passed by Congress with overwhelming, bipartisan support and signed into law by President Trump on March 27, 2020. The economic package of over $2 trillion delivers on the Trump Administration’s commitment to protecting the American people from the public health and economic impacts of COVID-19. The CARES Act provides fast and direct economic assistance for American workers, families, and small businesses and preserves jobs for our American industries.
