About Me:

What is your favorite Bible verse and why?

One of my favorite passages is the return of Christ in Revelation 19:11-16 that says, “11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. 13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses.15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will [d]rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the [e]wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. 16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

This picture of Christ returning as the all-powerful King is what fuels us today as His people to live for Him and to fix our eyes upon that day that He receives all that He owns! I go here often to remember how history all ends and to remind myself of this moment, when Christ comes to take all that is His.

How did your college experience change you?

I consider my time at TMU one of the most impactful times in my life, both intellectually and spiritually. As a Biblical Studies major, it was here that I really learned how to approach the Bible as the Word of God, meaning that it’s God’s book about His glories in Christ, and I began learning how to shed the often-selfish approach that I took to my daily reading. I learned to rejoice in GOD’s story as it displayed Christ, and then how I could play a role in that story by living for Christ now. My studies here under the Bible profs have shaped the way I’ve learned and loved the Bible.

What’s your favorite spot on the TMU campus to hang out?

The fountain outside of Rutherford is so relaxing, the perfect place to stop and enjoy the sun.

What are some of your hobbies and/or interests?

Reading! Anything from Bible reference to historical biography

Spikeball- it’s great to grab some friends and get outside for a break

Hosting friends and family over a meal and good coffee

What album is playing on your Spotify right now?

I love having soft jazz play in the background at home.

What is your favorite coffee drink?

An iced half-sweet latte from House Roots is incomparable.

What book are you currently reading?

“Do More Better” by Tim Challies, a great resource on the Biblical and practical sides of productivity.

“The World that Shaped the New Testament” by Calvin Roetzel. I’m always looking for  more to learn about the cultural/political backgrounds of the Bible.

Who was your favorite college professor while at TMU?

Dr. Abner Chou. He taught me not only to love the riches of the Old Testament, but study to it rigorously to the glory of God.
