What should Christians believe about dinosaurs? Should Christians be involved in politics? How should Christians interact with the culture? All believers must work through issues like these at some point in their lives. The Center for Thinking Biblically was created to help people apply a biblical worldview as they strive to answer life’s biggest questions.
Thinking Biblically is a hub of resources designed to help people understand the world through the lens of Scripture. Created by educators at The Master’s University who have a passion for exalting Christ in all things, these resources are designed to equip believers with a thoroughly biblical way of thinking about every aspect of life.
Dr. Abner Chou, president of TMU and contributor to Thinking Biblically, says of the new platform, “Our aspiration for the Center for Thinking Biblically is to be the trusted resource for the church that brings to bear the whole counsel of God’s Word on any given topic or current event. That takes training in all of God’s Word and its theology. That also demands the exercise of that absolute and universal truth over all things”
The Center for Thinking Biblically was born out of a desire to share the wealth of wisdom that TMU professors have gathered over the years with everyone, regardless of age, location, and education. For decades, students at The Master’s University have benefited from the knowledge and experience that their professors bring to their fields – experience in paleontology, literature and art, government and history, education, engineering, and of course, Scripture. With the Center for Thinking Biblically, that knowledge and experience is made available for free in the form of comprehensive yet succinct video lectures.
Resources on the Thinking Biblically site include series on culture, by Dr. Grant Horner, on dinosaurs, by Dr. Matt McClain, on education, by Dr. Jordan Morton, and on politics, by Dr. Gregg Frazer. Other contributions come from almost every department at TMU, including Professor Todd Kostjuk from business, Dr. Bob Dickson from communication, Dr. David Crater from engineering, and Dr. Will Varner from Bible. The platform will continue to evolve as new resources and lecture series are added.
