 Provides administrative leadership of The Master’s University’s Institutional Research & Assessment department. 


Essential Functions

The key functions that must be fulfilled by this position include:

  • Provide leadership to all institutional research and assessment activities at the University.
  • Update and maintain the University’s Institutional Assessment Plan. 
  • Develop annual institutional data reports (in both printed and web-based formats) relating to recruitment, enrollment and graduation.
  • Coordinate administration, and reporting of national surveys and assessment instruments used by the University.
  • Complete selected IPEDS reports and oversee completion of remainder of IPEDS reports for the University and Seminary.
  • Oversee completion of surveys received by the University. 
  • Coordinate selection and administration of General Education and Major assessment instruments & processes.
  • Work with various departments to develop survey and assessment instruments to support the University’s accreditation efforts.
  • Make presentations to the faculty, staff, administration, and Board of Directors as necessary relating to institutional research and assessment activities and findings.
  • Represent the University at national and regional institutional research and assessment conferences as necessary.
  • Complete additional institutional research and assessment activities as directed by the V.P. for Academic Affairs.



  • Strong database management skills.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, organize, and summarize data (e.g., numerical, demographic, survey, statistical data).
  • Strong commitment to the doctrinal position of The Master’s University
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and with churches, church leaders, organizations and their leadership, etc.
  • Evidence of a mature Christian lifestyle by active involvement in a conservative evangelical local church.
  • Ability to develop effective data summary presentations and reports (using Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Word processing and/or data entry skills.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.




  • Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a demonstrated commitment to the doctrinal position of TMUS and a continuous exhibition of a desire to minister and serve others in varied capacities.
  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree (required) or Master’s degree (preferred) in statistics, mathematics or a closely related field.
  • Experience with accreditation processes in higher education highly desirable.
  • Teacher education training and/or experience desirable, but not required.
  • Strong skills in regard to report development, use of computer programs including word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software, databases, and statistical analysis tools. 
  • Training and/or experience developing survey and assessment instruments.   
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and the public.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and faculty from diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, & ethnic backgrounds.
  • Have strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), & SQL.
  • Excellent oral and written command of the English language is required.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Exercise confidentiality, good judgment and discernment.
  • Service oriented and able to interface with many people is mandatory.
  • Ability to multitask in an environment with many distractions.
  • Must successfully pass a background investigation.


Working Conditions


  • Working Environment: Mostly indoors in a typical office environment, with an occasional need to visit other areas on campus.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift, pull, push, grasp and bend while lifting up to 30lbs.
  • Repetitive motions on a keyboard and looking at a computer monitor for an extended duration of time is required.
  • Travel: Some travel involved including overnight stays.
