What if something goes wrong with my computer?

The IT Service Desk only provides services for wireless internet access, email, and printing as well as information on software discounts available to students.  We do not handle issues regarding software or hardware failure.  

If you are encountering issues with your computer that is not in one of the three areas mentioned above, we recommend the following resources:

Service Desk Staff and Student Consulting

You may contact the the Service Desk for a list of staff and students who provide paid services outside of their regular working hours.

The TMU IT Service Desk is not responsible for any damage or loss of files resulting from the use of outside support.

 

Does TMU backup my computer files or provide a way to do that?

No, you are responsible for your computer files, so PLEASE make sure your important files are backed up on a regular basis. There are numerous solutions available, including local backup to an external hard drive and online backup services such as Google Drive and OneDrive.  If you have questions about this, come talk to us at the IT Service Desk.
