NORWALK, Calif. – Late Thursday night, Karis Frankian set a new school record in the 10000m after finishing the event with an astonishing time of 34 minutes and 36.19 seconds at the Mt. Sac Relays.
Frankian finished the first half of the race at 17:17, and went 17:19 in the latter part. Notably, Frankian’s time in the 10000m sits on top of the NAIA’s performance list. Frankian’s time also met the NAIA’s “A” standard (37:30.00) qualifying her to compete at the 36th Annual Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships from May 26-28 at the Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
On Friday, Morgan Pedrick represented TMC in the 1500m where she achieved a new lifetime best after clocking a time of 4:35.15. Pedrick’s time met the NAIA’s “A” standard (4:38.50), also qualifying her to compete at the NAIA's Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
Looking ahead, Frankian, Pedrick, and the rest of the Lady Mustangs will compete at the 2016 Golden State Athletic Conference Championships from April 28-29 on the campus of Westmont College in Santa Barbara.
