Final Results

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- On Friday, The Master's College women's track & field program finished its time at the 2016 GSAC Championships on the campus of Westmont College in Santa Barbara. 

All-GSAC honors are awarded to athletes who place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Women's GSAC Track & Field Championship Tracker:

  • In the women's 3,000m steeplechase, Abigail Frankian placed second overall at 11:02.64, earning All-GSAC honors along the way.
  • Karis Frankian placed first overall in the women's 10,000m final by finishing the event in 37:26.79.  Teammate Rachel Rush finished third overall at 41:07.37. Both Frankian and Rush earned all-conference honors based on their outstanding performances.
  • Karis Frankian placed first overall in the women's 5,000m final by finishing the event in 17:10, earning all-conference honors. Notably, Frankian's time cleared the NAIA's "A" standard (17:36.30), qualifying her to compete at the national championships in May.
  • Notably, Karis Frankian has won the GSAC Championship in the 5,000 meters and the 10,000 meters for 4 consecutive years.

 

Collectively, The Master's College women's track & field team tallied four all-conference titles and placed fifth out of seven competing teams with 56 points.

The following Mustangs have qualified to compete at the NAIA's championship meet in May: Morgan Pedrick (1,500, 5,000, marathon), Karis Frankian (1,500, 5,000, marathon, 10,000), Mikala Fairchild (1,500, marathon), Abigail Frankian (1,500, 10,000, steeplechase, marathon), Rachael Ingoldsby (steeplechase).
