Golf Makes Splash at Beach Bash

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Mustang golf, which ranks ninth in the NAIA, competed in the first round of the 2013 Bash at the Beach Tournament, hosted by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University on the legendary grounds of the LPGA National Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Thane Ringler (Hutchinson, KS) leads the leaderboard at 6-under par 66. Andrew Bergoon (Mobile, AL) is tied for sixth place with a two-over par 74, while Michael Reitz’s (Denver, CO) five-over par 77 tied him for 24th place. John Lawson (Mobile, AL) and Nolan Sand (Hoquiam, WA) both shot eight-over par 80, and are tied for 40th place.
The Mustangs hold a team score of 297, and currently sit in first place out of a field of 10 teams.
The 36-hole, two-round, tournament will conclude Sunday morning.
