PRIMM, Nev. – The Mustang golf squad took to the links Tuesday morning with a first-place standing on the ‘Battle of Primm’ leaderboard.
Unfortunately, at the end of the third round, TMC golf head coach Jason Semelsberger and the NAIA’s 11th-ranked team found itself fifth out of a field of 17 teams, with a final score of one-over 865 (287, 280, 298).
Leading the Mustangs’ effort was Thane Ringler (Hutchinson, KS). Ringler finished in seventh place and made par in the final round, which brought his final score to 212 (71, 69, 72). Following closely was Michael Reitz (Denver, CO) who tied for ninth place and carded a 215 (70, 72, 73).
Both John Lawson (Mobile, AL) and Andrew Bergoon (Mobile, AL) shot a 5-over 77 in the third round. Lawson finished tied for 20th with a final score of 218 (75, 66, 77), while Bergoon’s final score of 227 (71, 79, 77) landed him tied for 59th place. Nolan Sand’s (Hoquiam, WA) final score came to 228 (79, 73, 76) and tied for 61st place.
After a quick break, the Mustangs will hit the road again to compete in the ‘2013 Bash at the Beach’ tournament, held on the prestigious greens of the LPGA National Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Florida.
