Bachelor of Music Entrance Requirements

There are six opportunities to perform a live Bachelor of Music entrance audition for the 2018-2019 school year for students interested in the following degrees:  Instrumental Performance, Piano Performance, Piano Performance with Emphasis in Pedagogy, Vocal Performance, Composition, Music Education and Traditional Worship.   These entrance auditions also fulfill the department scholarship audition requirements. 

If you would like to be considered for a Music Scholarship, you must audition by April 9, 2018.  Prospective students may still be admitted to the program after that date, but no funds will be awarded.

April 9, 2018 - beginning at 4:00 pm | Mondays @ Master's

Application Guidelines

  2. Contact the Department of Music (ext. 2279) to schedule your audition time.


Your audition will include:

  • A 15-minute, live performance for selected music faculty
  • A music fundamentals exam including sight reading, scales and some basic music theory

B.M./Scholarship Audition Requirements

Prepare appropriate selections in accordance with the following requirements:

Voice Flute Composition
Piano Oboe Classical Guitar
Keyboard Clarinet Electric Bass
Violin Saxophone Trumpet
Viola Bassoon Horn
Cello Snare Drum Trombone
Double Bass Timpani Euphonium
Harp Drum Set Tuba


A staff accompanist will be provided for voice auditions only.  All other auditions will be performed unaccompanied.  Vocalists, please inform us of your song titles or send, scan or fax your sheet music to the Department of Music two weeks prior to your audition date. You will be able to rehearse with the accompanist before your audition.

You may wish to consult a teacher in helping you make a selection that best demonstrates your musical ability.

Attire should refelct the seriousness of the audition process.
