We equip students to understand the Bible as a whole through a comprehensive study of Genesis to Revelation, introduction to biblical theology and theological systems, and experience studying in Bible lands. We are passionate about the Scriptures as the inspired and inerrant Word of God. The mission of the MABS is to provide students with the breadth of biblical training required for effective service to Christ and His Church. The program empowers students to sharpen and refine their ability to comprehend, apply, practice, and proclaim the Word of God.
The Master of Arts in Biblical Studies (MABS), instituted in 2006, is perfectly tailored for individuals such as pastors, missionaries, teachers or school administrators who are actively involved in ministry. This modular based program enables students to earn a graduate degree in three to six summers, depending on their own schedule and commitments. This format allows students to pursue in-depth training in biblical studies while continuing in their current ministry or occupation. The program schedule includes summer term core classes that meet on campus during 2 weeks in July, and correspondence and travel-study courses carried out in the fall and spring terms.
The MABS program seeks to inculcate into students knowledge and skills in the following areas:
Additionally, the opportunity to study abroad in Israel and in Greece & Turkey on a graduate level is a unique feature of the MABS program. These Travel-Study Extension Trips are offered in three formats: Israel Semester (15 weeks), Israel Summer (3 weeks), and Turkey/Greece Winter (2.5 weeks). They are guided by faculty who have led missions teams, taught study tours of Israel, planted churches, and presented papers at regional and national meetings. Students have the privilege to learn from and interact with pastors, professors, authors, research scholars, editors, seminary presidents, theologians, recipients of the Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award, and professors that have been recognized in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers.
Those who have a hunger for the Word of God and desire to receive graduate and professional level study of the Scriptures should consider the Master of Arts in Biblical Studies program.
